Every year, Chicago plays host to one of the biggest vintage motorcycle and scooter rallies in the country. June 13-15, Motoblot 2014 (presented by Triumph) was one swinging rockabilly weekend!
The weekender began at Isle of Man with a VIP party featuring complimentary bbq and beers from the various sponsors, a beautiful acoustic set by Julia Haltigan and a sexy whipping by Tila Von Twirl. Moving over to Martyr’s, the party kicked into high gear. After a rocking set by Nashville favorites Hillbilly Casino, teasers Donna Touch and Ray Ray Sunshine treated the crowd to some good old bump n’ grind. Special guest performer–all the way from Rome, Italy–Albadoro Gala, wowed the audience with her flawless classic moves and beautiful costuming!
On Saturday, three city blocks were shut down to host this massive event that took place right outside of Cobra Lounge. The inside stage area was transformed into a VIP bands and burlesque lounge. Featuring the Bama Lamas and Bailey Dee, VIPs were also treated to special burlesque solos by Stella Cheeks, Deja Sue, Bella Ciao, Ramona Mourir, and Hot Tawdry. We all had an amazing time performing for this packed, standing room only crowd! And our special guest, Albadoro Gala, set off a glitter bomb that is sure to be talked about at all future Motoblots to come!
You would think that would be enough to make up a full weekend, but the teasers never take anything lightly! Our very own Donna Touch coordinated the beautiful women who competed for the title of Miss Motoblot 2014 in the official pinup contest. Special congratulations to Chez who won the very first Miss Motoblot title. Well deserved! In between the contest rounds on the huge outdoor stage, Original Tease performed several of our signature (appropriate for all ages) group routines. The crowd also got to check out some more amazing rockabilly bands including the Krank Daddies, Detroit Cobras, Droids Attack and Wicker Man!
The rest of the weekend was spent checking out the awesome vendors who really made the event something special. Our own Bomber Betty provided makeup services for all 20 of the Miss Motoblot contestants and was was on hand to make custom lipsticks. Other vendors included Royal Enfield, Windy City Triumph, Classics Pomade, Soul Customs, and the Iron Moto Challenge, a bike building contest sponsored by British Customs LLC!
The weekend was amazing experience for all the teasers and we’re already looking forward to Motoblot 2015!
